Just like kids, a healthy, well-cared-for dog is a happy, playful and manageable dog that bonds with people well and is like a ray of sunshine in your home.
Regular grooming keeps your darling pet's coat clean, healthy and manageable. It prevents yeast infections caused by matted hair, diseases caused by uncared for teeth, ear infections from excessive build-up of wax, dirt and bacteria, foot and nail problems. Flea and tick treatments keep your pet happy and parasite-free.

I recommend a monthly head to tail professional grooming of your canine pal and daily and weekly brushes from your side so you can bond better with your pet while also being aware of any potential issues he could be having. I shall be more than happy to help and guide you through this process.

After grooming
The basic hygiene routine would include:

Nail Cutting and Paw Cleaning: The one ruff-tuff part of your pet's body is his paws! Remember, your darling walks the rough tarmac of your roads, sloshes through mud and grass and plunges through bushes and hedges in your garden, not to mention running on your vinyl home floor - BAREFOOT!! Ouch! If nails grow too long, they hurt the paw and cause medical problems just as excessive hair between pads will be a breeding ground for bacteria and ticks that you won't see. Nail cutting and paw cleaning will ensure your little love has no discomfort whatever - And you have a pet that has dainty and elegant feet. Didn't I read somewhere that one's personality can be read by looking at the feet? Well, that goes for your canine companion too! Ear Cleaning: Now how would you feel if you had an ear full of wax and couldn't reach it with your fingers because you had a deep ear canal? Well, you may have read your dog's frustrated mind every time you see him scratching madly at his ears! The poor soul! Now, the ear is a sensitive organ, much like your own and you may not be equipped enough to clean it effectively. Let us professionals do it for you and watch the ecstasy in your pet's eyes as his ears get cleaned! Teeth Brushing: Remember when your little 'Sweetie' cuddled up and tried to lick your face? Yechh! That breath could wilt flowers! And it's not just because of the meat diet your pet is on. Just like humans, canines also have tartar and plaque build-up and bacteria formation that causes bad breath. So dental hygiene is an important part of the grooming process. Shampoo and Conditioning based on skin and coat types: Fine coats, oily, pimply skin, dry skin, dandruff, skin infections, hair fall…oh yes, did you think your canine companion is free of this? Especially when he has over 100 times the hair you have on your head alone?! He needs care too, more so as he is covered with hair! Worry not; we have the solution right here for you. Brushing/Dematting/Trimming: Now, this is the equivalent of salon treatment for your baby. It keeps his coat tangle free, glossy and neat… salon style!

If you have one of our lovable little wirehaired dachshunds this step would be slightly different to cater to the wire coat. Wire Haired Dachshunds have a double coat, comprised of a harsh outer coat and a soft undercoat. Every now and then, dead hair needs to be removed to give way to fresh hair growth through a simple manual process called 'stripping'. This is done with a tool called a stripping comb. All Wire Hair dogs need to be stripped to allow for the growth of the fresh coat. Get your dog once every couple of months for this 'stripping' session. Flea & Tick treatment: Well, Imagine a pesky fly latching on to you in a place where you can't reach him. Or a mosquito that constantly flits and stays on your skin, just out if reach, biting you every now and then, not to mention the potential diseases it can inflict on you! Well, ticks and fleas are the canine parallel and can be as frustrating to your pet, especially as he has a coat that makes them practically invisible. Get your pets cleaned and treated with parasite repellents that will keep him calm peaceful and free of pests and pest borne diseases.

If you go to the salon to pamper yourself, your canine pet that gives you so much joy and love, sure deserves a grooming every month. Come over, we are here to pamper your pet!
